More Double Weave on Four
Instructor: Jennifer Moore Fee: $125 + tax
Date: Saturday and Sunday February 22 & 23 10-5 pm Mat Fee: $10
Beyond the many techniques that can be woven with the basic 4-shaft doubleweave draft with a light and dark layer, there are several exciting 4-shaft techniques that can be created by changing the threading, the color patterns, or both. In this round robin workshop we will weave samples in four colors, four color block rotation, double blocks with layer exchange, tubular and folded log cabin, and overshot-patterned doubleweave. Theory lessons will make clear how to draft with these techniques to create your own original designs. Level- Beginning to intermediate students will bring a 4-shaft table or floor loom warped according to instructions.

In this exciting, introductory class you will learn all the secrets to my unique approach to modular knitting. This class is for both beginners and seasoned knitters and lays a solid foundation for all my other classes. If you are serious about learning more advanced techniques, this class will launch you effortlessly into all my other classes. While this lovely vest may appear complex, it is surprisingly simple to knit. It has virtually no seams and you never have more than a few stitches on your needle at a time and rarely more than one color. This design lends itself nicely to variegated yarns or lots of colors from your stash. I’ll teach you to fear no color and how to have fun breaking all the “knitting laws”! Student Supplies: Worsted weight yarns in variegates and complimentary solid colors; two size 8 double pointed needles; Size G crochet hook; Post-it notes; flexible, squishable, rubber stitch markers that fit over size 8 needles; tapestry needle; scissors; tape measure; and calculator.
